Topic: Using Two –term and three term ratio

Materials:  counters

Audience: EDCP 342 Student Teachers

Overall learning Objective: Be able to (1) Identify equivalent ratios and simplest form       (2) Relate the drawing measurement to the real measurement.  (3) Perform the task of arranging squared tiles to the sides of a right angled triangle and identify their relationship in a ratio form.

1. Hook
Give a short introductory story of making Cold Fruit Soup whereby require liquids are: - 4 cups cranberry juice, 3 cups white grape juice and 8 cups water. Solids are:- 2 cups sugar and 1 cup raspberry jam
Some oral responses about soup making from the audience

Warm - up
Distribute counters of different colors and let them be arranged to form a ratio that represents the same relationship as another ratio; e.g., 2:4 is an equivalent ratio to 1:2
Performing the task under guidance through observation.
5 minutes
2. Presentation
Construct right-angled  triangles and place squares giving relationship to the sides.

Construct a three colored  table ( Red, Blue, Black) to find the ratio with different ways
They will find ratio by switching different colors and note down on note books
